Education is the best rock of every civilization. Like the popular quote, when you educate a girl child you educate a whole community.

Girl child education isn’t the only thing on the front burner today as Sohcahtoa Foundation in its ever-lofty mission of “fighting hunger and empowering the African children and youth through education,” successfully launched it’s maiden edition of its scholarship programme for deserving male and female undergraduates in various tertiary institutions in Nigeria.

The event held in Lagos, Nigeria last week, was graced by Mrs Solape Fayemi, co-founder Sohcahtoa Foundation, Government official, Scholarship recipients and their parents and other guests.

The event was as well covered by the press, as Tribune Newspapers, Vanguard Newspapers, and Guardian News were there. Also NTA and Plus TV crew were in attendance.

Highlights of the events included; award of the scholarship to recipients, advice from dignitaries, comments from parents, entertainment and so much more.

With this initiative from our non-profit NGO, Over a 100 selected undergraduates will receive tuition support of N250,000 annually from their second year in the university till their graduation. Do visit our gallery to see several pictures of the event.
